GONZALES, Texas -- An 8-year-old girl is tortured and starved to death and now a jury's getting to see disturbing evidence taken from the home of her alleged abusers.

It was an emotional day inside the courthouse as a jury and family members heard details about a little girl’s death.

The photos have never been seen publicly before. They are of 8-year-old Chrystal Ramirez’s body -- frail and skinny from starvation and covered with bruises and bedsores.

Patricia Bamberger, Chrystal's aunt, says, “I never knew this was happening."

Testimony is expected to continue this week.

Chrystal had an older sister and brother living at the Ramirez’s house. Child Protective Services removed those children after her murder. They are now living with foster families.
