Toddler's death in Dallas day care an accident, medical examiner says

A toddler found unconscious Friday at a far northeast Dallas day care died from an accidental choking, the Dallas County medical examiner’s office has ruled.

Two-year-old Isabella Estep was found about 4:30 p.m. at the Woodbridge Day School on Plano Road, south of Forest Lane on the Garland-Dallas border.

She was taken to Baylor Medical Center at Garland, where she was pronounced dead at 5:34 p.m. Friday.

Details of the incident were unavailable.

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Child Care Licensing section is investigating “just to make sure there aren’t any deficiencies or violations that may have contributed to the situation,” spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales said.

State records show Woodbridge has had few violations in recent years.
